Saga of a Detox...Day 7 & 8

The food intake for day 7 and 8 look pretty much the same as the last 6 days.  Fruit, veggies, lentils, wild brown rice, lots of green tea, Complete shakes, water and supplements.

On Day 8 I got to add a "new" supplement, the SP Green Food capsules, bringing the grand total to 45 capsules a day.  Sounds exciting I know.  Hahah!  Lets talk about why I'm taking so many capsules a day.  It has something to do with the steady ingesting of the nutrients.  When you take a vitamin, in the a.m, chances are you urinate most of it out by mid day leaving your body with nothing else.  By taking these supplements 3 times a day, the body is having a constant stream of what it needs during this detox time.  That's the way it should be with any supplements you take, even a multi-vitamin.  I have a women's one-a-day and it says two pills a day.  Those should be taken morning and evening, not both in the morning or both in the evening.

I did have one cheat *gasp*
In a moment of desperation late night on Day 7 I grabbed for a box of gluten free rice crackers, ate one and threw the box back in the pantry.  Bummer part is it didn't taste as good as I had hoped or remembered them to taste.

I'm on the count-down now to Day 11 when I can add meat!!  WooHoo.  I realized that I've been vegan for the last 8 days.  No meat or animal products(milk, cheese, eggs etc) for 8 days.  Not that I'm missing it terribly, but I would like a hard boiled egg and a huge piece of cake some time soon.

The bigger victories have to be that I have alot more energy.  I'm not feeling spent by mid afternoon.  I don't have dark circles under my eyes. I'm sleeping better at night.   My hands aren't stiff and hurting.  Yesterday I was able to put my wedding ring on!!!!

I've already been thinking ahead to what will happen at the end of this 21 day journey.  As much as I'm missing certain foods(all baked goods and coffee, cheese, ice cream) I'm not sure if I'll go back to eating the way I did before.

We will see if the will power holds up on day 22.  Keep checking back to find out what happens next.
