Couponing for Realz!!

So, last time I talked about how I  had started couponing.  And yes, its true I'm a bit over the top about it.  Asking neighbors to save coupons, looking in the recycling bins on trash day up and down the street, posting on FB for local friends to save them for me.

But let me tell you something....this week all my toothpaste and toothbrushes were FREE!!!  Yes, FREE!  Now a switch has been thrown.  Why on earth would I ever pay for toothpaste again, when I know I can get it for FREE?  See where I am going with this.  I'm not saying I'm going to try and get all our necessities for free, but why pay for toothpaste when I know there is another way.  I could not believe it when I checked out at the grocery and all 7 tubes and 7 brushes were free.  And here's how it worked:

Colgate was on sale 10 for $10(tangent here - you don't have to buy 10 to get that price.  You can buy 1).  I had a $0.75 off coupon that doubles up to $1.  Actually, I had 7 coupons.  That made them all FREE.  Same with the toothbrushes.  Needless to say, I will not have to put toothpaste on the shopping list for a while.  Nice :)

Here are a few other recent savings:
Bic Soleil Razors 4pack reg. price $5.99, sale price $3.99
coupon for $3 off.  Final price $0.99 each! I bought 8.  Won't need to buy razors for a while.

Right Guard Deodorant reg. price $4.97, sale price $1.99
coupon BOGO free.  Final price $0.48 each.  I bought 6.  And they each came with a free trial body wash!

Today was the best savings so far.  Skinny Cow chocolate clusters and Chocolate Crispy bars on sale 2 for $0.98.  There was a manufacture coupon right by the product for $0.75 off 2.  My store doubles up to $1....making them all FREE!!  I came home with alot.

So, lets just say its worth a little time to clip a few coupons and check the ads, peruse the aisles, and look at new displays and new items.  You never know what you'll find or how much you'll save.
