Holiday Wreath
And I say "holiday" because you could leave it up til February and change the bow.
Here's what you need:
1 wire coat hanger
5-6 plastic trash bags(grocery bags might work too) cut into 6inch strips
A festive bow
Some festive music, Christmas movie or junk tv to pass the time
Tie strips onto hanger and smoosh together until hanger is completely full.

Room With A View
You think this post would be about some swanky hotel with a fantastic view or something along those lines right? Not so much.
When I was 16, my life consisted of school, work, and a boyfriend. Various school activites came into play and going out with friends was in there are well. I would get excited about football games and driving around in my brown Ford Thunderbird. The highlight of Christmas gifts were new clothes from my parents.
Now, at almost 33, my life consists of school(not my own), work(that I don't get paid for) and a boyfriend(who also happens to be my husband). Various activities come into play(not usually mine) and going out with friends are far and few between(unless you count work parties at someone else home). Today I get excited about grocery shopping and drive around in a black Ford Explorer. The highlight of Christmas gifts are new windows for the house.
Long gone are the days of clothes, shoes, jewelry even.
When I was 16, I never thought at age 33 I'd be excited about new windows in a house.
My room with a view has definetly changed over the years.
What's on your list this year?

Time...Where Has It Gone?
This morning I've realized that time is truly slipping through my fingers. I think I've always known the days with my sweet babies are flying by...but this morning just seemed to cement that fact even more so.
My 12 year old...wow 12...Will be 13 in two months!
My 10 year old is going off the basketball practice without me staying to watch every single time and getting rides home with friends! He also must wear deoderant now! WHAT!
My little 7 year old, who donated 10 inches of her golden locks in May, was asking to take a shower before school and have her hair blown dry before the bus came. Her hair is also touching her shoulders now...after being cut chin length.
It flies. Time that is. People told me it would. Especially when my sweet children were babies. "It goes so fast" they would say. I would think "I can't wait til they're older...potty trained...sleeping through the night...able to be in a room unsupervised..."
I'll never get those days back. You won't either if you have little ones.
It flies. It truly does. So, now I must focus on enjoying it to the fullest...before its gone.

Joy of The Season
Why is it always harder to find the Joy of the Season when its suppose to be all around you?
My bright idea this year was an Advent Calendar. Something for the children to look forward to all month long. A little surprise each day, an activity or small adventure. Something to help us find the Joy of the Season.
So far, so good. But then we always have those moments when I say "why have I done this to myself?" Example 1) when a certain child threw a fit at the Christmas tree farm and then proceeded to tell me that he hated his brother. JOY! 2) the inevitable fighting at family game night because one child or another doesn't like the game or doesn't have the patience for their siblings. JOY!
Are these the memories we are trying to build? Fighting, impatience, the dreaded forced time together? Its suppose to be a JOYous season right? Trying to find that JOY. If you know where its hiding let me know okay!
